Back in the Saddle

Hey folks,

Sorry I have been away so long… a huge blog faux pas I am told.  Please cut me some slack – I’m new at this thing.

It’s been an interesting time since I last posted an entry.  I have been to Oregon in that time.  While away I gained just over 1 pound.  So that was a victory in my books.  I went to visit my Dad and his wife (they live in Portland).  Although they have been married less than 20 years, I have been going to that house since I was a little kid.  So there are alot of behaviours and habits associated with my frequent trips to Portland.  One thing about the house… there is candy everywhere (practically).  Dad’s wife has a bit of a sweet tooth, so naturally I have always been drawn to the candy dishes.  This time was no exception – well I guess a little bit of an exception – I did partake, but with MUCH LESS regularity.  Maybe it’s not a huge victory… maybe a draw?

There are lots of other stories I could tell some victories, so not so much, but I was happy with the net result after 6 days on the road as a +1 pound.

I have also been spending my brain power on drilling down to the core of the purpose for this blog and how this journey I am on will fit into my business life.

I am starting to think of the “end” – what my life will look like when this reduction in weight is accomplished.  Where will I go from there?  How will this even be relevant?

I think I have it largely figured out.

I have made some pretty serious goals for the future.  I am not yet ready to share them here… but you know I will eventually (and probably sooner than later).  The announcements will inspire lots of questions I’m sure; maybe a few giggles when some of you say “Really?”  But suffice it to say, it will be worth watching!

One final note – I finally have a family doctor (first time since about 1989) and so I went in for some tests, just to see how badly my lifestyle has damaged my body systems.  I know that since I started my nutritional supplements in August of 2008 I have been feeling better and better and better on the inside.  But the numbers won’t lie.

I am waiting on the final word on the blood tests (results on April 11th) and for a call from the Cardiologist regartding my stress test (if the call doesn’t come that’s a good thing).

But one snippet for now.  March 23rd blood pressure: 110 over 70.  The actual quote from Dr. Jeff: “Excellent!”  Let’s hope we hear that word again on the 11th :)
