Accountability – Financial, Fitness and Otherwise

My biggest challenge is accountability.

I am the worst person to buy a gift for.  If I want something, I just go out and get it, so there’s usually nothing left to go on my Birthday or Christmas Lists.  Because I live on my own, that’s my M.O.  So it goes for accountability.  Because I live alone, there is no one that I feel accountable to to help keep me on track.  If I want to order a pizza, I tend to do it.  So the temptation makes me ultimately fail at my eating goals.  I take 100% responsibility by the way.

One of my goals for 2012 is to be more accountable.

I am going to learn how to write things down.  I will keep a food diary.  I will keep track of my exercise routines.  I will, for the first time ever, have a budget written down.  There are things I want to accomplish.  I have heard rumours, for example, that writing down your food intake – EVERYTHING – will keep me from cheating so easily.  That sounds good to me.  Writing down my exercise will help me track my progress and push me to success.   Excellent.

Thanks to Max, I now have the most amazing tool for keeping track of my expenditures and therefore staying on budget.  The best part of this amazing software is that it’s FREE!  Here’s how it works.  I put in my budget and then as I spend I can text or call on my cell and the program automatically updates my budget… DAILY!  It puts it in the correct categories.  It allows me to record very accurate transaction details and memos.  It even keeps a couple of running totals showing me how much I have spent and how much is left for the month.  EPIC!  Thanks Max for providing all of us associates with this complimentary tool.  I love this company and the many perks it provides.

Lastly… the real secret… Accountability Partners.  I have asked a handful of friends, people I trust, to help me with this.  They are my support group.  They are the lifelines I will be able to call when I sail into stormy weather.

More Accountability.  I’m armed.  Locked and Loaded.  Bring it on 2012… just bring it!
